Calvin Smajstrla is a fourth generation native Texan born in Waco where his family has deep roots and raised in Kerrville. Growing up a Hill Country kid he followed after his father developing a passion for wing shooting, fly fishing and deer hunting. In 2005 Calvin graduated from Tivy High School and made his way to Lubbock to acquire an Agriculture and Applied Economics degree from Texas Tech University in 2009. From there, Calvin was called to South Texas to enter the oil and gas industry as a Petroleum Landman. After a few years as a landman he co-founded a landman brokerage representing exploration and production companies, pipeline companies and utility companies all over the state of Texas. During this time Calvin focused solely on landowner negotiations associated with oil and gas development, Right of Way easements as well as mineral and royalty acquisitions. In his experience traveling the state as a landman he developed a great appreciation for the Texas landowner.

Now, the Smajstrlas have moved back to the community they grew up in to show their children the same Hill Country lifestyle and traditions that were engrained in Calvin and his wife as children. He has also fulfilled a childhood dream of becoming a Texas landowner himself. His family spends most of their free time at their ranch in Coleman County where he and his wife love sharing hunting, fishing and cattle ranching with their two little girls. Calvin’s love for Texas and its landowners is what has inspired his career in Real Estate.
